PLA-CF (Carbon Fiber Reinforced PLA) is a lightweight engineering composite developed for both FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) and FGF (Fused Granulate Fabrication) 3D printing. By combining the excellent printability of PLA with the strength and rigidity of carbon fibre reinforcement, PLA-CF delivers superior stiffness, dimensional stability, and a premium matte finish. It is an excellent material for engineering prototypes, manufacturing fixtures, industrial tooling, and lightweight structural components.
PLA-CF is one of the most advanced 3D printing materials for industrial additive manufacturing, offering an excellent balance of strength, precision, and lightweight performance. Carbon fibre reinforcement significantly improves the mechanical properties of standard PLA, reducing deformation and increasing rigidity without adding excessive weight. Available as both filament for FFF printers and pellets for FGF systems, PLA-CF enables manufacturers to produce highly detailed engineering parts as well as large-format industrial components with outstanding dimensional accuracy and reliable performance.
PLA-CF is engineered for applications where lightweight strength, rigidity, and precision are essential. Compared with standard PLA, carbon fibre reinforcement improves structural stability, reduces warping, and provides better mechanical performance. It also produces an attractive matte surface finish that is highly valued for professional prototypes and presentation models.
PLA-CF is fully compatible with both industrial additive manufacturing technologies offered by GFac.
FFF technology uses PLA-CF filament to produce highly detailed engineering parts with excellent surface quality and dimensional precision. It is ideal for functional prototypes, manufacturing fixtures, design validation, robotics components, and low-volume production requiring lightweight yet rigid components.
FGF technology processes PLA-CF pellets, allowing manufacturers to produce large-format components at higher printing speeds while reducing material costs. PLA-CF pellets are well suited for industrial tooling, architectural structures, automotive moulds, furniture manufacturing, sculptures, exhibition models, and other large-scale engineering applications where lightweight strength and productivity are important.
Both technologies provide excellent mechanical performance, allowing manufacturers to choose the most suitable printing process based on component size, production volume, and application requirements.
PLA-CF is widely used across industries requiring lightweight, rigid, and high-precision components.

To maintain consistent print quality, PLA-CF should be stored in a sealed container with desiccant in a cool, dry environment to prevent moisture absorption. For optimal results, print at 210–240°C with a heated bed temperature of 50–70°C. Because carbon fibre is abrasive, a hardened steel, tungsten carbide, or ruby nozzle is strongly recommended instead of a standard brass nozzle to minimise nozzle wear. Proper drying and storage help ensure reliable extrusion, improved layer adhesion, and consistent mechanical performance for both FFF and FGF printing.

PLA-CF is a composite 3D printing material that combines PLA with carbon fibres to improve stiffness, dimensional stability, and strength while maintaining excellent printability.
PLA-CF offers higher rigidity, improved dimensional accuracy, reduced warping, a premium matte finish, and lighter weight than standard PLA, making it ideal for engineering applications.
PLA-CF is typically printed at a nozzle temperature of 210–240°C with a heated bed temperature between 50–70°C. A hardened nozzle is recommended because carbon fibres can wear standard brass nozzles.
PLA-CF is widely used for engineering prototypes, manufacturing fixtures, automotive components, aerospace models, robotics, tooling, and lightweight structural parts requiring high stiffness and precision.
PLA-CF provides greater stiffness, better dimensional stability, and a stronger structural performance than standard PLA. While standard PLA is ideal for general-purpose printing, PLA-CF is the preferred choice for professional engineering, industrial prototyping, and functional applications requiring lightweight, rigid components.
We are committed to pushing the boundaries of additive manufacturing through continuous innovation, advanced engineering systems, and real-world industrial implementation.
